October 2026 Group Learning: Establishing a Future-Ready Framework for Issues Management

Published on October 22, 2026

Watch our October 2026 Group Learning “Establishing a Future-Ready Framework for Issues Management” with leaders in public safety communications at APCO International.

From regulatory and political shifts to consumer activism and misinformation, today’s threats move faster than traditional response systems. To navigate this complex risk environment, organizations require more than reactive solutions—they need proactive, integrated systems designed for speed, scale and strategic alignment.

In this Group Learning session, APCO experts explore how communications leaders can build modern issues management frameworks that enable organizations to anticipate risks, coordinate cross-functional responses and make informed decisions under pressure. Drawing on real-world examples and emerging trends, participants will examine how to strengthen organizational readiness, align stakeholders and create processes that support both immediate response and long-term resilience.

This session is designed to:

  • Identify the core components of a future-ready issues management framework, including risk monitoring, stakeholder alignment and decision-making protocols.
  • Explore practical strategies for detecting and assessing emerging issues earlier, enabling organizations to respond with greater speed, confidence and credibility.
  • Learn how to integrate communications, public affairs, legal and business functions to create a coordinated approach to issues management and organizational resilience.

Instructor: Liza Olsen is Deputy Managing Director in APCO’s Los Angeles office, where she specializes in crisis and issues management, crisis preparedness, stakeholder engagement, and reputation strategy. She advises global clients on navigating complex corporate, regulatory, and societal challenges, leading communications efforts for major multinational companies across the consumer products, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors.
